The club was founded in 1928 by a group of former pupils of Bishop Veseys Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield, and soon grew from 1 team to 3. The original location of the club was on landed owned by the school in Bedford Road and the club played there for nearly 30 years, interrupted by the war in 1939/45, until 1957 when it moved to its present location at the Memorial rounds. The first club house was a wooden ex-Canadian Army hutwhich lasted until 1973 when it was replaced with the present clubhouse.
On the playing side, the teams enjoyed reasonable success in the local Old Boys Clubs circuit and also managed to expand the fixture list to include playing the second teams of clubs such as Moseley and Coventry when these weremajor clubs in the 60s, 70s & 80s.
With the growth of the universities the stream of players coming from the school became a trickle in the early 70s and the club went fully open at that time, changing its name by dropping the ‘Old’ and having its first non Old Veseyanas Captain shortly afterwards.
The club plays on the North Midland RFU Circuit and presently resides in the Midlands 4 West (North) league. Off the field there are always a variety of activities taking place, and the club has been going on tour at Easter for nearly 50 years.
